Coventina
Description
Coventina was a goddess in charge of the rivers, wells and springs. This ring of a small shell that has travelled in her waters, is a token to remember the power of a river. The Coventina reminds the wearer of their inner power, running water cannot be stopped. Calm above there can be strong currents hidden beneath. It will cut its own path, turn a trickle into a river, bring life to a land that is dry and barren. Water is life eternal and this little ring is a reminder that no matter what, you can carry on and grow.
Coventina is a token inspired by the Romano-British goddess herself. In charge of wells, springs and rivers, she has been associated with healing, renewal, time, abundance, new beginnings, inspiration, prophecy and wishes.
A shrine to her can be found near Hadrian's Wall.
